Worship Resources for Feb 23
This morning Pastor Robert will be focusing our hearts on Christ's promise of peace amid a turbulant world from John 16:30-33. We would encourage you to take some time before you arrive to prepare your hearts for worship. Use the song links to prepare your heart and the hearts of your family for a few of the songs we'll be singing. The readings match what you'll hear on Sunday. If you forget to grab a bulletin, click on that link to download a digital copy.
For more resources (including song links, the bulletin, and printable music updated weekly) visit our Sunday Worship page.
1 Samuel 2:1-4, 7-8
My heart exults in the Lord; my horn is exalted in the Lord.
My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation.
“There is none holy like the Lord: for there is none besides you;
there is no rock like our God.
Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth;
for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble bind on strength.
The Lord makes poor and makes rich; he brings low and he exalts.
He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap
to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor.
For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and on them he has set the world.
New City Catechism Question 9: What does God require in the first, second, and third commandments?
Answer: First, that we know and trust God as the only true and living God. Second, that we avoid all idolatry and do not worship God improperly. Third, that we treat God’s name with fear and reverence, honoring also his Word and works.
2 Corinthians 6:16 - "What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, 'I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.'”
