Robert Johnson

Robert graduated from James Madison University with a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy and earned both an MA and a ThM in Systematic and Historical Theology from Regent College in Vancouver, British Colombia. He served on the staff of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship from 1988-1995 in full-time ministry to college students at James Madison and Washington & Lee Universities. He has served as a Pastor at HPC since 1998.  Robert is married to Lynne and they have two adult children, Bethany and Daniel.

Greg was born and raised in southeast Missouri. He has more than fifteen years of ministry experience and particularly enjoys discipling/shepherding others and training the laity to exercise their gifts within the body. He is passionate about scripture, and he loves to teach and preach whenever possible. Greg holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia (2003), as well as a Masters of Theology from Covenant Seminary, St. Louis (2009). Following seminary Greg worked for the City of Greenville, SC, as the manager of administration for the city's department of public transportation while also serving as a pastoral intern for Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church from 2010 until December 2014. Greg joined the staff of HPC as Assistant Pastor in January 2015. Greg met his beloved wife Tricia while they were students at Covenant Seminary. They have three children: William, James, and Lauren.


Nathan Grubbs

Nathan has been serving in ministry to students for 18 years in the Chattanooga area. He graduated from Covenant College in 2003 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Youth Ministry, Sociology, and Missions. He married his wife, April in 2003 and they have three kids, Ellie (9), Caleb (7), and AnnaKate (3). He loves football, particularly the Tennessee Titans and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

 

 

Patrick Jones

Patrick grew up in nearby Rome, Georgia. He earned a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from Valdosta State University and a Master of Music from the University of Oregon. Patrick grew up playing piano and guitar in the church, and was heavily involved in choirs from a young age. Patrick joined the staff of HPC in July of 2018. Prior to joining HPC, Patrick served as Choir Director and Music Director at various churches in Georgia and Music Ministry Coordinator at Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Patrick's wife, Lynn, is Assistant Professor of Piano and Keyboard Area Coordinator at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Lynn and Patrick enjoy hiking, cooking, playing with their dog Moses, and enjoying the mountain views from their new home in Hixson.

Alisa has worked with children in a variety of settings for over 20 years. She has enjoyed teaching children in a classroom, dance studio, church, and camp setting. She has always considered her role as one of ministry. Alisa earned her B.S. In Biology from Mississippi College and her MEd from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Originally from Mississippi, what brought her to the Chattanooga area was a nearby summer camp and a desire to minister to children. Alisa lives in Hixson with her husband Jerry, daughter Mary Margaret, and bunnies Flower and Sherup. During free time, they enjoy camping, movies, travel, and being with friends and family.

Heather Whitfield

Heather has been with us over 5 years. She had previously been an administrative assistant for a company called L.E. Myers. She was a stay at home mom for over 17 years raising her 3 beautiful daughters Rebekah, Hannah, and Faith. She is currently working on her Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies at Belhaven University. She is originally from Pennsylvania but now resides in Soddy Daisy with Clay, her husband of 25 years, their 3 girls, along with their horses, Rowdy and Cowboy, and the family dog, Jake. Heather loves spending time in God's word, being with family and friends, hiking and biking and fall weather!
