Volunteer

The choir is open to those who have a desire to use their musical gifts to glorify God and encourage the church. If you have a heart for worshiping God and want to use your musical gifts, then come rehearse with us and learn more about HPC’s choir.

We sing gospel-centered, Christ-exalting songs and spend time building relationships, memorizing Scripture, praying, and learning from God’s word. The choir usually sings every other week in the worship service, as well as at special services around Christmas and Easter. We take a break during the summer.

At HPC we love music, and we love using our musical talents as part of the worship service. We hope that all our instrumentalists and vocalists are an encouragement to the congregation as we help them to engage in singing truths to one another with thankfulness in our hearts to God.

When it comes to musical instruments, our typical worship service makes use of the various musical talents within our church membership–and we are blessed to have multiple guitars, the piano, violin, cajon, and bass.

This team includes those who serve in the sound, projection, and video ministry during the worship service. They make sure the service runs smoothly by projecting lyrics, mixing sound, and managing our livestream.

If you are interested in serving in this area, we would love your help. Even if you don’t have past experience, we would love for you to join this group.

If you love children and love to teach, we could use you during any one of our regular weekly activities: Sunday school, Children’s Church and midweek!  We also need co-teachers, shepherds (care for the kids while others lead programming) and small group facilitators.  Teaching children the Word of God is such a joy as they make connections and learn to love the Lord.

While there are some paid staff as part of our nursery care, our ministry runs mostly on volunteers.  Our paid staff offers consistency in order to build relationships with our littlest ones and to maintain safety standards.  All diapering and special needs are taken care of by the paid staff enabling the volunteer to assume responsibilities like reading a story, building blocks, singing, rocking a baby, etc. The children receive the blessing of love and attention while our volunteers receive the blessing of getting to know these precious children.

Adult Volunteers are essential for our Student Ministry. The responsibility to come alongside students and teach them, mentor them and be Christ-like models for them is a weighty one, but one that also comes with amazing rewards!  We have opportunities to teach and lead for all of our regular weekly activities: Sunday morning and evening as well as midweek small groups.

Students need adults to come alongside them for mentoring and prayer.  While the commitment frequency is less than teaching or leading, it is no less important and rewarding.  If you have a love for middle or high school students, please consider being a mentor and/or praying for the students and this ministry.

We love to worship at Underground on Sunday evenings.  If you have a gift for music and a love for students, please consider joining us!

If you know anything about student ministry, you know how important food is for fellowship!  The great news is that students aren’t picky about what you feed them.  If you love to feed others, we’d love to have you volunteer to serve our student ministry in this way.

We have a number of special events and retreats each year and we need adult volunteers to join us.  If you love to be around middle and high school students and have flexibility in your schedule to join us, please consider volunteering.

If you love to meet people and greet them, we could use you!  We need greeters Sunday mornings to help visitors find where to go, hand out bulletins and be a welcoming presence for everyone who comes to worship.

We continue to help the community children both academically and spiritually. We serve more than 15 children each week. Our capacity is determined by the number of volunteer tutors that return each year.

Our vision is to enable academic progress, to meet real needs, and build community relationships that lead others to life-transforming encounters. Our mission is to provide a safe place to help “at risk” children which impacts the academic, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual lives through tutoring and one-on-one discipleship relationships.

During the school year

Our desire as the Meals Committee is to minister to the members of our church as we serve and support one another in times of need. The Meals Committee seeks to facilitate in such a way that the congregation is inspired to, “[b]ear one another’s burden, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2).

How to Help

• Be a member of the Meals Committee
• Join a larger group of women who have signed up to be on a rotating list and are willing to be on-call when meal calendar slots go unfilled
• Sign up to bring a meal a few times a year

What to Bring

• Homemade or store bought meal
• Frozen meal from the church freezer
• Fast food (MC will begin providing ideas of people’s favorite restaurants)
• Send a meal to-go or meal gift cards
